Project

Dreamcups

Dream Cups began with a desire: to create an artifact from dream fragments, to make something material from the ethereal. I planned to create one cup each day based on the details remembered from the previous night’s dream.

As soon as I committed to the project, I stopped remembering my dreams.

Instead, I gathered whatever ordinary materials each day offered—tea leaves, pine needles, oatmeal, junk mail, leaves, fibers, doodles, snowmelt, even dried coyote scat—and transformed them into small vessels.

What began as an archive of dreams became an archive of attention. Installed together, the cups suggest a shared field of memory and imagination, where individual experience gives way to something collective.
