I begin with the feeling that something wants to be considered. There is a sense of what it is but I don’t always know at first what form it wants to take. 

Rather than trying to explain or illustrate it, I invent processes to discover the next step and follow the idea, create situations in which discovery is possible.

Research, conversation, drawing, printmaking, painting, collecting, photography, digital processes, collaboration, and material experimentation become ways of asking questions. Through these often indirect and intuitive processes, the work unfolds and unexpected relationships emerge that lead to outcomes I could not anticipate. 

Many projects extend beyond the studio through interviews, participation, and shared experiences. What begins as an individual observation frequently becomes a collective investigation that forges new connection.

I am interested in making tangible what is often overlooked or unseen. The finished work is not a conclusion but a record of paying attention.

I attended Antioch College, hold an MFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design with additional graduate study at the Maryland Institute College of Art.

I have been an artist-in-residence at Anderson Ranch, the Vermont Studio Center, and in Calcutta, India, where I led an art based community project with Pathways to Children. I am represented by Space Gallery (Denver, CO) and Oehme Graphics (Steamboat Springs, CO).
